AUTOBIOGRAPHY
Teen-Beat is an autonomous arts organization founded in 1984. Teen-Beat helped ignite the American independent music revolution. Best known for its Washington, D.C.-based artists such as Unrest, Tuscadero, Eggs, and Air Miami, the Teen-Beat label has also been on releases by outsiders Butch Willis and Jonny Cohen, Canada's Bossanova, experimentalists Gastr Del Sol, Ween's Aaron Freeman, 1960's icons The Feminine Complex, New York's epic Versus, The Tube Bar, and countless others.
Mark Robinson (Unrest) founded the label while attending Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia, with help from friends Andrew Beaujon (Eggs), Phil Krauth (Unrest), Tim Moran (Unrest), and Ian Zack (Thirsty Boys). Another classmate, John Lindaman (True Love Always), was also an early supporter. Teen-Beat is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Arlington, Virginia.
